AmpereHour Energy Commissions 2 MW / 9.79 MWh BESS in Gabon in Africa
Feb 14, 2025
AmpereHour Energy has successfully commissioned a 2 MW / 9.79 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Ayem, Gabon, marking a significant step in Africa’s transition to sustainable energy. Developed for a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) under the guidance of Gabon’s Ministry of Energy and Hydraulic Resources, the project enhances grid stability and energy reliability in the region.
A key innovation in this project is the Plug-and-Play BESS solution, with the AC side pre-mounted on a skid and fully assembled in India before shipment. This Factory Acceptance Tested (FAT) approach streamlined on-site installation, significantly reducing time and complexity.
The project highlights AmpereHour Energy’s expertise in seamless BESS integration with leading battery suppliers, demonstrating flexibility and technical proficiency. The successful deployment reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing clean energy solutions in Africa and beyond.
