Adani Wind Sets 2.5 GW Target for FY26, Eyes Export Market with India’s Largest Onshore Turbine

May 09, 2025

Adani Wind, the wind energy arm of Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL), is targeting 2.5 GW of wind power capacity installation in FY26, with 1.5 GW demand expected from its sister firm Adani Green Energy and the remaining from independent power producers (IPPs) in India. This is part of its plan to cater to both domestic and export markets.

The company has expanded rapidly—growing its manufacturing capacity to 2.25 GW and investing Rs2,000 crore over the last five years to develop 5 GW of capacity, with plans to scale to 10 GW by 2030. Its EBITDA for the wind turbine business reached Rs274 crore in Q4 FY25, according to Adani Enterprises’ financial results.

On the global front, Adani Wind has set up a research centre in Rostock, Germany, to tap into the European market, especially repowering projects in Germany. It also acquired Windnovation, a German company, to lead R&D efforts.

The company’s 5.2 MW wind turbine generator (WTG)—India’s largest onshore turbine—is now listed in the MNRE’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM). Certified by Germany’s WindGuard GmbH, the WTG is now commercially available and marks a major milestone for Adani in the global wind energy market.
