Adani Green Withdraws from Rs86890 Sri Lanka Wind Power Project
Feb 14, 2025
Adani Green Energy has decided to withdraw from its planned Rs86890 wind power project in Sri Lanka, citing delays related to environmental clearances and an ongoing Supreme Court case. Despite securing most approvals, the company stated that a new Cabinet Appointed Negotiations Committee (CANC) and Project Committee (PC) would be formed to renegotiate the proposal.
Adani Group is also developing a container terminal in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in partnership with John Keells and the Sri Lanka Port Authority. While withdrawing from this investment, Adani Green reaffirmed its willingness to consider future opportunities in Sri Lanka should the government invite the group for any new projects.
