Adani Green Energy Scales to 14.2 GW Capacity, Eyes 50 GW by 2030
Apr 17, 2025
Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has reported a robust 30% year-on-year increase in operational capacity, reaching 14.2 GW in FY25, with an additional 1 GW nearing commissioning, pushing the total soon to 15.2 GW. This growth has been driven by the commissioning of solar, wind, and hybrid projects, particularly in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The company’s energy sales also jumped 28%, delivering 27,969 million units in FY25. Notably, AGEL fulfilled 107% of its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) commitments, reflecting high system reliability and operational efficiency. Asset performance metrics revealed 99.5% plant availability for solar, 95.9% for wind, and 99.6% for hybrid assets.
A standout performer was the Khavda solar plant, which recorded a Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 32.4% in Q4 FY25, aided by bifacial n-type modules, horizontal single-axis trackers (HSAT), and robotic cleaning systems. Across the board, AGEL achieved CUFs of 24.8% for solar, 27.2% for wind, and an impressive 39.5% for hybrid projects.
Looking ahead, AGEL has set its sights on a 50 GW renewable portfolio by 2030, with a diversified mix of solar, wind, hybrid, and pumped storage projects. The company has already secured over 5 GW of pumped storage sites and is increasingly targeting the commercial & industrial (C&I) and merchant power markets. This expansion is being financed through a USD 3.4 billion revolving construction facility.
AGEL’s Energy Network Operations Centre (ENOC), powered by AI and ML technologies, ensures optimal performance management across its fleet. The company reported a strong EBITDA margin of 92% in FY24, underlining the financial resilience of its operations.
