Actis Acquires Stride Climate Investments to Expand Solar Portfolio in India

Actis, a global sustainable infrastructure investor, has acquired a 100% stake in Stride Climate Investments, a solar asset portfolio in India, from a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management. This acquisition gives Actis control over Stride’s 371 MW (414 MWp) of operational solar projects across 21 sites in seven states, with a strong presence in Gujarat. Stride’s assets have a decade-long operational history and are backed by long-term power purchase agreements with government and private entities.

Stride is now Actis’ third active energy generation platform in India, complementing its existing investments in BluPine Energy and Athena Renewables. Actis has a track record of investing in energy infrastructure, having deployed over $7.1 billion in Asia and developed more than 8 GW of installed capacity, including 5.5 GW in renewables. Other notable investments in India’s renewable sector by Actis include Ostro Energy and Sprng Energy.

Actis’ acquisition of Stride demonstrates the growing investor interest in India’s renewable energy market, particularly in stable, long-term solar assets that ensure reliable cash flow. The deal aligns with Actis’ strategy of targeting sustainable, high-yielding infrastructure investments in rapidly expanding markets.
