Solar Vendors to Protest at REC Jaipur Over PM Surya Ghar Yojana Issues

Solar vendors under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana are gearing up to protest at the REC office in Jaipur, citing unresolved issues that have plagued the scheme for months. Despite multiple follow-ups, neither MNRE nor REC have addressed key problems, severely impacting the vendors’ operations and credibility.

Among the major grievances are:

1. Persistent portal glitches lasting over 2 months

2. Duplicate serial number issues pending for 4+ months

3. Sudden disruption of the stable Portal 1.1 during the peak rooftop installation season

These technical failures have led to delays in project registration, subsidy processing, and communication with consumers. As a result, vendors are facing consumer harassment, loss of business, and reputational damage, while officials remain unresponsive to the realities on the ground.

This protest is not just about software bugs—it's a call for accountability and urgent reforms in the administration of a flagship national program launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The vendors are demanding that their livelihoods and contributions to India’s rooftop solar goals be respected.

The protest is starting in Jaipur, with calls for vendors in other states to join in solidarity to demand attention and action from the authorities.
